From the Flower Shop is my capstone project from my final semester at The University of the Arts. It is a digital exhibit that showcases the traditional style of Phulkari embroidery from the Punjab regions of Pakistan and India. It documents the origins of the craft and how it has been shaped by the history that has taken place in the region. I explore how the British occupation and resulting partition impacted the cultural significance of the garment and how it is being preserved into the future.
